Talbiyah
لَبَّيْكَ اللَّهُمَّ لَبَّيْكَ، لَبَّيْكَ لاَ شَرِيكَ لَكَ لَبَّيْكَ، إِنَّ الْحَمْدَ وَالنِّعْمَةَ لَكَ وَالْمُلْكَ، لاَ شَرِيكَ لَكَ
Transliteration: Labbayk Allaahumma labbayk, labbayk laa shareeka laka labbayk, ‘innal-hamda, wanni’mata, laka walmulk, laa shareeka laka.
Translation: Ever at Your service, O Allah, every at Your service. Ever at Your Service, You have no partner, ever at Your service. Verily all praise, blessings and dominions are Yours. You have no partner.

Takbeer when passing the black stone
اَللّٰہُ اَکۡبَرُ
Transliteration: Allahu Akbar
Translation: Allah is the Most Great!

Upon reaching the Yemeni corner during Tawaf
رَبَّنَاۤ اٰتِنَا فِی الدُّنۡیَا حَسَنَۃً وَّ فِی الۡاٰخِرَۃِ حَسَنَۃً وَّ قِنَا عَذَابَ النَّارِ
Transliteration: Rabbanaaa Aatinaa Fiddunyaa H’asanah Wa Fil Aakhirati H’asanah Wa Qinaa A’d’aaban Naar
Translation: Our Lord! Give us in this world that which is good and in the Hereafter that which is good, and save us from the torment of the Fire!

When at Mount Safa and Mount Marwah
لَا إِلَهَ إِلاَّ اللَّهُ وَحْدَهُ لاَ شَرِيكَ لَهُ، لَهُ الْمُلْكُ وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ وَهُوَ عَلَى كَلِّ شَىْءٍ قَدِيرٌ، لَا إِلَهَ إِلاَّ اللَّهُ وَحْدَهُ أَنْجَزَ وَعْدَهُ وَنَصَرَ عَبْدَهُ وَهَزَمَ الأَحْزَابَ وَحْدَهُ
Transliteration: laa ilaaha ill-allaahu waḥdahu laa shareeka lah, lahul-mulku wa lahul-ḥamdu wa huwa ‛alaa kulli shay’in qadeer, laa ilaaha ill-allaahu waḥdahu, anjaza wa‛dahu, wa naṣara ‛abdahu, wa hazam-al-’aḥzaaba waḥdah
Translation: None has the right to be worshipped except Allah, alone, without partner. To Him belongs all sovereignty and praise and He is over all things omnipotent. None has the right to be worshipped except Allah alone. He fulfilled His promise, aided His Servant and single-handedly defeated the allies.

اَللّٰہُ اَکۡبَرُ، اَللّٰہُ اَحَدٌ، لَّاۤ اِلٰہَ اِلَّاۤ اللّٰہُ
Transliteration: Allaahu ‘Akbar, Allaahu ‘Ahad, Laa ‘ilaaha ‘illallaah
Translation: Allah is the Most Great. Allah is One. There is none worthy of worship but Allah.

When throwing stones at Jamaraat
اَللّٰہُ اَکۡبَرُ
Transliteration: Allahu Akbar
Translation: Allah is the Most Great!

At Arafat

Translation: None has the right to be worshiped except Allah, alone, without partner. To Him belongs sovereignty and all praise and He is over all things omnipotent.

When sacrificing an animal
بِسْمِ اللّٰہِ، اَللّٰہُ اَکۡبَرُ

Transliteration: Inna alssafa waalmarwata min shaAAairi Allah
Translation: Indeed, as-Safa and al-Marwah are among the symbols of Allah.

Ramadan
On the sighting of the crescent moon
اللَّهُمَّ أَهْلِلْهُ عَلَيْنَا بِالْيُمْنِ وَالإِيمَانِ وَالسَّلاَمَةِ وَالإِسْلاَمِ رَبِّي وَرَبُّكَ اللّٰهُ
Transliteration: Allahumma ahlilhu `alaina bil-yumni wal-iman, wassalamati wal-Islam, rabbi wa rabbuk Allah
Translation: O Allah, bring it over us with blessing and faith, and security and Islam. My Lord and your Lord is Allah

For the night of destiny (Lailatul Qadr)
اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّكَ عَفُوٌّ كَرِيمٌ تُحِبُّ الْعَفْوَ فَاعْفُ عَنِّي
Transliteration: Allahumma innaka Afuwwun [Karimun ] tuhibbul `afwa fa`fu `annee
Translation: O Allah, indeed You are Pardoning, [Generous,] You love pardon, so pardon me

Death & Funeral
When offering condolence
إِنَّ لِلّٰهِ مَا أَخَذَ وَلَهُ مَا أَعْطَى وَكُلُّ شَىْءٍ عِنْدَ اللّٰهِ بِأَجَلٍ مُسَمًّى فَلْتَصْبِرْ وَلْتَحْتَسِبْ
Transliteration: Inna lillaahi maa ‘akhatha, wa lahu maa ‘a’taa, wa kullu shay’in ‘inda’llahi bi’ajalin musamman. Faltasbir waltahtasib
Translation: Surely, Allah takes what is His, and what He gives is His, and to all things He has appointed a time. So, have patience and be rewarded.

When closing the eyes of the deceased
اللَّهمَّ اغْفِرْ لِفُلانٍ (باسْمِهِ)، وارْفَعْ دَرَجَتهُ فِي الـمَهْدِيِّيْنَ، واخْلُفْهُ فِي عَقِبِهِ فِي الغَابِريْنَ، واغْفِرْ لَـنَا ولَهُ يَا رَبَّ العَالَـمِيْنَ، وافْسَحْ لَهُ فِي قَبْرِهِ وَنَوِّرْ لَهُ فِيْهِ
Transliteration: Allaahummaghfir li (name of the deceased person) warfa’ darajatahu fil-mahdiyyeena, wakhlufhu fee ‘aqibihi fil-ghaabireena, waghfir-lanaa wa lahu yaa Rabbal-’aalameena, wafsah lahu fee qabrihi wa nawwir lahu feehi
Translation: O Allah, forgive [name of the deceased person] and elevate his station among those who are guided. Send him along the path of those who came before, and forgive us and him, O Lord of the worlds. Enlarge for him his grave and shed light upon him in it.

For the deceased at the funeral prayer
اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لَهُ وَارْحَمْهُ وَعَافِهِ وَاعْفُ عَنْهُ وَأَكْرِمْ نُزُلَهُ وَوَسِّعْ مُدْخَلَهُ وَاغْسِلْهُ بِالْمَاءِ وَالثَّلْجِ وَالْبَرَدِ وَنَقِّهِ مِنَ الْخَطَايَا كَمَا نَقَّيْتَ الثَّوْبَ الأَبْيَضَ مِنَ الدَّنَسِ وَأَبْدِلْهُ دَارًا خَيْرًا مِنْ دَارِهِ وَأَهْلاً خَيْرًا مِنْ أَهْلِهِ وَزَوْجًا خَيْرًا مِنْ زَوْجِهِ وَأَدْخِلْهُ الْجَنَّةَ وَأَعِذْهُ مِنْ عَذَابِ الْقَبْرِ أَوْ مِنْ عَذَابِ النَّارِ
Transliteration: Allaahum-maghfir lahu warhamhu, wa ‘aafihi, wa’fu ‘anhu, wa ‘akrim nuzulahu, wa wassi’ mudkhalahu, waghsilhu bilmaa’i waththalji walbaradi, wa naqqihi minal-khataayaa kamaa naqqaytath-thawbal-’abyadha minad-danasi, wa ‘abdilhu daaran khayran min daarihi, wa ‘ahlan khayran min ‘ahlihi, wa zawjan khayran min zawjihi, wa ‘adkhilhul-jannata, wa. ‘a’ithhu min ‘athaabil-qabri[wa ‘athaabin-naar]
Translation: O Allah, forgive him and have mercy on him and give him strength and pardon him. Be generous to him and cause his entrance to be wide and wash him with water and snow and hail. Cleanse him of his transgressions as white cloth is cleansed of stains. Give him an abode better than his home, and a family better than his family and a wife better than his wife. Take him into Paradise and protect him from the punishment of the grave [and from the punishment of Hell-fire].

اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِحَيِّنَا وَمَيِّتِنَا وَشَاهِدِنَا وَغَائِبِنَا وَصَغِيرِنَا وَكَبِيرِنَا وَذَكَرِنَا وَأُنْثَانَا اللَّهُمَّ مَنْ أَحْيَيْتَهُ مِنَّا فَأَحْيِهِ عَلَى الإِسْلاَمِ وَمَنْ تَوَفَّيْتَهُ مِنَّا فَتَوَفَّهُ عَلَى الإِيمَانِ اللَّهُمَّ لاَ تَحْرِمْنَا أَجْرَهُ وَلاَ تُضِلَّنَا بَعْدَهُ
Transliteration: Allaahum-maghfir lihayyinaa, wa mayyitinaa, wa shaahidinaa, wa ghaa’ibinaa, wa sagheerinaa wa kabeerinaa, wa thakarinaa wa ‘unthaanaa. Allaahumma man ‘ahyaytahu minnaa fa’ahyihi ‘alal-’Islaami, wa man tawaffaytahu minnaa fatawaffahu ‘alal-’eemaani, Allaahumma laa tahrimnaa ‘ajrahu wa laa tudhillanaa ba’dahu
Translation: O Allah forgive our living and our dead, those who are with us and those who are absent, our young and our old, our menfolk and our womenfolk. O Allah, whomever you give life from among us give him life in Islam, and whomever you take way from us take him away in Faith. O Allah, do not forbid us their reward and do not send us astray after them.

اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّ {فُلاَنَ بْنَ فُلاَنٍ} فِي ذِمَّتِكَ وَحَبْلِ جِوَارِكَ فَقِهِ مِنْ فِتْنَةِ الْقَبْرِ وَعَذَابِ النَّارِ وَأَنْتَ أَهْلُ الْوَفَاءِ وَالْحَقِّ فَاغْفِرْ لَهُ وَارْحَمْهُ إِنَّكَ أَنْتَ الْغَفُورُ الرَّحِيمُ
Transliteration: Allaahumma ‘inna [name the person] fee thimmatika, wa habli jiwaarika, faqihi min fitnatil-qabri wa ‘athaabin-naari, wa ‘Anta ‘ahlul-wafaa’i walhaqqi. Faghfir lahu warhaw.hu ‘innaka ‘Antal-Ghafoorur-Raheem
Translation: O Allah, surely [name the person] is under Your protection, and in the rope of Your security, so save him from the trial of the grave and from the punishment of the Fire. You fulfill promises and grant rights, so forgive him and have mercy on him. Surely You are Most Forgiving, Most Merciful.

When placing the deceased in the grave
بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ وَعَلَى سُنَّةِ رَسُولِ اللّٰهِ
Transliteration: Bismillaahi wa ‘alaa sunnati Rasoolillaahi
Translation: With the Name of Allah and according to the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah

Nature & Weather
For rain
اللَّهُمَّ اسْقِنَا غَيْثًا مُغِيثًا مَرِيئًا مَرِيعاً نَافِعًا غَيْرَ ضَارٍّ عَاجِلاً غَيْرَ آجِلٍ
Transliteration: Allaahumma ‘asqinaa ghaythan mugheethan maree’an muree’an, naafi’an ghayra dhaarrin, ‘aajilan ghayra ‘aajilin.
Translation: O Allah! give us rain which will replenish us, abundant, fertilising and profitable, not injurious, granting it now without delayd not delayed.

When it rains
اللَّهُمَّ اجْعَلْهُ صَيِّبًا نَافِعًا
Transliteration: Allahummaj’alhu Sayyiban nafi`a
Translation: O Allah, make it beneficial rain.

After rainfall
مُطِرْنَا بِفَضْلِ اللّٰهِ وَرَحْمَتِهِ
Transliteration: Mutirnaa bifadhlillaahi wa rahmatihi.
Translation: We have been given rain by the grace and mercy of Allah.

When there is excessive rain
اللَّهُمَّ حَوَالَيْنَا وَلاَ عَلَيْنَا، اللَّهُمَّ عَلَى الآكَامِ وَالظِّرَابِ وَبُطُونِ الأَوْدِيَةِ وَمَنَابِتِ الشَّجَر
Transliteration: Allaahumma hawaalaynaa wa laa ‘alaynaa. Allaahumma ‘alal-’aakaami wadh-dhiraabi, wa butoonil-’awdiyati, wa manaabitish-shajari
Translation: O Allah, let it pass us and not fall upon us, but upon the hills and mountains, and the center of the valleys, and upon the forested lands.

Upon hearing thunder
اللَّهُمَّ لَا تَقْتُلْنَا بِغَضَبِكَ وَلَا تُهْلِكْنَا بِعَذَابِكَ وَعَافِنَا قَبْلَ ذَلِكَ
Transliteration: Allahumma la taqtulna bi-ghadabika wa la tuhlikna bi-`adhabika wa `afina qabla dhalik
Translation: O Allah, do not kill us with Your wrath, and do not destroy us with Your punishment, and pardon us before that.

During a windstorm
اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ مِنْ خَيْرِهَا وَخَيْرِ مَا فِيهَا وَخَيْرِ مَا أُرْسِلَتْ بِهِ وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّهَا وَشَرِّ مَا فِيهَا وَشَرِّ مَا أُرْسِلَتْ بِهِ
Transliteration: Allahumma inniias’aluka min khairiha wa khairi ma fiha, wa khairi ma ursilat bihi, wa aaudhu bika min sharriha wa sharri ma fiha, wa sharri ma ursilat bih
Translation: O Allah, indeed, I ask You for its good, the good of what is in it, and the good of what it has been sent with. And I seek refuge in You from its evil, the evil of what is in it, and the evil of what it has been sent with.

Social Etiquette
For greeting people
السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَةُ اللّٰهِ وَبَرَكَاتُهُ
Transliteration: Assalamu ‘alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh
Translation: May the peace, mercy, and blessings of Allah be upon you

When responding to Salam
وَعَلَيْكُمُ السَّلاَمُ وَرَحْمَةُ اللّٰهِ وَبَرَكَاتُهُ
Transliteration: Wa’alaikum assalam wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh
Translation: Peace and mercy and blessings of Allah be upon you

For thanking someone
جَزَاكَ اللّٰهُ خَيْرًا
Transliteration: Jazaakallaahu khayran
Translation: May Allah reward you with good.

اَلۡحَمۡدُ لِلّٰہِ

Transliteration: Yar hamu kal-laahu.

لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللّٰهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ لَهُ الْمُلْكُ وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ يُحْيِي وَيُمِيتُ وَهُوَ حَيٌّ لَا يَمُوتُ بِيَدِهِ الْخَيْرُ وَهُوَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٍ
Transliteration: Laa ilaaha illallaahu wahdahu laa shareeka lahu, lahul-mulku wa lahul-hamdu, yuhyee wa yumeetu, wa Huwa hayyun laa yamootu, biyadihil-khayru, wa Huwa alaa kulli shayin Qadeer.
Translation: There is no Lord except Allah. He is One and has no partners. His is the Kingdom and for Him are all praises. He gives life and gives death. He is eternal and everlasting In His control is goodness, and He has power over everything.

At the end of a Gathering/Majlis
سُبْحَانَكَ اللَّهُمَّ وَبِحَمْدِكَ أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلاَّ أَنْتَ أَسْتَغْفِرُكَ وَأَتُوبُ إِلَيْكَ
Transliteration: Subhaanaka Allaahumma wa bihamdika, ‘ash-hadu ‘an laa ‘ilaaha ‘illaa ‘Anta, ‘astaghfiruka wa ‘atoobu ‘ilayka
Translation: Glory is to You, O Allah, and praise is to You. I bear witness that there is none worthy of worship but You. I seek Your forgiveness and repent to You.

For Istikhara
اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْتَخِيرُكَ بِعِلْمِكَ وَأَسْتَقْدِرُكَ بِقُدْرَتِكَ، وَأَسْأَلُكَ مِنْ فَضْلِكَ الْعَظِيمِ، فَإِنَّكَ تَقْدِرُ وَلاَ أَقْدِرُ وَتَعْلَمُ وَلاَ أَعْلَمُ وَأَنْتَ عَلاَّمُ الْغُيُوبِ، اللَّهُمَّ إِنْ كُنْتَ تَعْلَمُ أَنَّ هَذَا الأَمْرَ خَيْرٌ لِي فِي دِينِي وَمَعَاشِي وَعَاقِبَةِ أَمْرِي ـ أَوْ قَالَ عَاجِلِ أَمْرِي وَآجِلِهِ ـ فَاقْدُرْهُ لِي وَيَسِّرْهُ لِي ثُمَّ بَارِكْ لِي فِيهِ، وَإِنْ كُنْتَ تَعْلَمُ أَنَّ هَذَا الأَمْرَ شَرٌّ لِي فِي دِينِي وَمَعَاشِي وَعَاقِبَةِ أَمْرِي ـ أَوْ قَالَ فِي عَاجِلِ أَمْرِي وَآجِلِهِ ـ فَاصْرِفْهُ عَنِّي وَاصْرِفْنِي عَنْهُ، وَاقْدُرْ لِي الْخَيْرَ حَيْثُ كَانَ ثُمَّ أَرْضِنِي بِهِ
Transliteration: Allaahumma 'innee 'astakheeruka bi'ilmika, wa 'astaqdiruka biqudratika, wa 'as'aluka min fadhtikal-'Adheemi, fa'innaka taqdiru wa laa 'aqdiru, wa ta'lamu, wa laa 'a'lamu, wa 'Anta 'Allaamul-Ghuyoobi, Allaahumma 'in kunta ta'lamu 'anna haathal-'amra-[then mention the thing to be decided] Khayrun lee fee deenee wa ma'aashee wa 'aaqibati 'amree - [or say] 'Aajilihi wa 'aajilihi - Faqdurhu lee wa yassirhu lee thumma baarik lee feehi, wa 'in kunta ta'lamu 'anna haathal-'amra sharrun lee fee deenee wa ma'aashee wa 'aaqibati 'amree - [or say] 'Aajilihi wa 'aajilihi - Fasrifhu 'annee wasrifnee 'anhu waqdur liyal-khayra haythu kaana thumma 'ardhinee bihi
Translation: O Allah, I seek the counsel of Your Knowledge, and I seek the help of Your Omnipotence, and I beseech You for Your Magnificent Grace. Surely, You are Capable and I am not. You know and I know not, and You are the Knower of the unseen. O Allah, if You know that this matter [then mention the thing to be decided] is good for me in my religion and in my life and for my welfare in the life to come, - [or say: in this life and the afterlife] - then ordain it for me and make it easy for me, then bless me in it. And if You know that this matter is bad for me in my religion and in my life and for my welfare in the life to come, - [or say: in this life and the afterlife] - then distance it from me, and distance me from it, and ordain for me what is good wherever it may be, and help me to be content with it. Whoever seeks the counsel of the Creator will not regret it and whoever seeks the advice of the believers will feel confident about his decisions. Allah said in the Qur’an: ‘And consult them in the affair. Then when you have taken a decision, put your trust in Allah.’

رَبَّنَا افۡتَحۡ بَیۡنَنَا وَ بَیۡنَ قَوۡمِنَا بِالۡحَقِّ وَ اَنۡتَ خَیۡرُ الۡفٰتِحِیۡنَ
Transliteration: Rabbanaf-tah baynana wa bayna qawmina bil haqqi wa anta Khayrul Fatiheen
Translation: Our Lord! Decide Thou between us and our people in truth, for Thou art the best to decide.

Seek Allah's guidance
اَلۡحَمۡدُ لِلّٰہِ الَّذِیۡ ہَدٰىنَا لِہٰذَا ۟ وَ مَا کُنَّا لِنَہۡتَدِیَ لَوۡ لَاۤ اَنۡ ہَدٰىنَا اللّٰہُ
Transliteration: Alhamdu lillahi allathee hadaana lihatha wama kunna linahtadiya lawlaa an hadaana Allahu
Translation: Praise to Allah, who has guided us to this; and we would never have been guided if Allah had not guided us.

فَاللّٰہُ خَیۡرٌ حٰفِظًا وَّ ہُوَ اَرۡحَمُ الرّٰحِمِیۡنَ
Transliteration: fallahu khayrun hafithan wahuwa arhamu arrahimeen
Translation: Allah is the best guardian, and He is the most merciful of the merciful.
